Ok,
Dealer wants $500 to do the 15k mile service. This involves fluid changes and inspecting everything.
Now while the service man told me that I can do it myself sometimes it's easier to deal with DC should I have problems if the recommended service was performed at the dealer.
That said, how many of you paid the dealer for this service VS doing it yourself? Is it worth it?
Also, what fluids is everyone using? So far I have:
Trans: Redline MTL
Diffs: Mobile 1 75w90
Tcase: DC ATF+4
Does that sound right?

I did my own fluid changes.
Right now,
Diff = Amsoil Synthetic
Auto Trans = Amsoil synthetic
Engine = Valvoline Premium Blue
It all depends on whether on not you have the facility and the ablility to work on your own vehicle.
My truck hasn't seen the dealer (except for body repairs) since it rolled off the lot when new.

I let the dealer do the tranny because I had them flush it with AMSOIL. Every where else I installed AMSOIL
ATF in the transfer.
75w-90 in the front & rear differentials.
The only thing I haven't changed is the power steering/brake system which uses ATF.

I changed all my fluids, no issue - just make sure you have the right size hex keys before you drain the tranny and xfr case fluids and have to take a taxi to Sears.
I went to the dealer for the fluids mostly because I didn't want to run all over town and wanted the receipts for warranty proof just in case:
- 75w-85 front and rear diff (no friction modifier even if you have anti-slip)
- ATF+4 transfer case
- Mopar MT fluid in the MT
I had a dealer quote me on the price of the fluids change and that's the main reason I did it myself, aside from wanting to see what drained out. MUCH CHEAPER to do it yourself.

What about the inspection? Is that something I really want them to do? I am a decent wrench, but I don't want to fight with them over the proper maintenance and they claim they do a bit more than just change out the fluids. I seem to remember him saying that they pull the covers off of everything and inspect and clean where needed.
I think I want synthetic all the way around fluid since my truck does see -20 in the winter.
