Is dealer suppose to charge for high idle enabled?
Took mine by the dealer today and the tech that usually does the service on my truck done it for free! Was wondering if they are suppose to charge or is it a service they do for free?

My dealer was going to charge me but I said it's in the owner's manual that the feature is "enabled" and there shouldn't be a charge. They did it free. To me it's an option like auto door locks or lights on all the time. Your choice imho. They are not adding anything.

when i told the service writer what i wanted he had no clue. when the tech came out (to the parking lot with his little computer), i told him, he seemed to understand but had not done one before. i continued to explain to him and he found out how to 'enable' the feature. so it was a learning experience for them at no charge to me.

When your Intake Temp Sensor sees under 30 degrees and you start your truck it should go up to 1,000 rpm automatically (if your e-brake is on) It will stay there till you touch the brake, put it in gear, ect
The other is to use your cruse control buttons (auto guys only) you can hit cruse on and it jumps to 1,000 rpm, then you can use the accelerate, decell buttons to raise or lower the RPM the motor runs at. This is used to warm up faster, keep heat while stoped, ect.
Again not sure if the 06's have this, but they should. Check the all might owners manual for sure (I have a 05)
