With all the driving you did with the (assumed) bad lift pump, the injector pump may also be toast. If it were me and my '03, I'd let them replace the pump(s) and make sure all working correctly.
I would also, like someone else suggested, ask the dealer to let you keep the old sending unit. It has the original 'to the last drop' fuel pickup. If I were to later decide to put in a Walbro and gauge set, I wouldn't have any issues with monkeying around with aftermarket fuel pickups.
