Good info exchanged anyway!

DustyRock -
Even if we are (getting bamboozled),
Rooster has done everyone a favor!

Lots of good incentive - to keep the "stuff" that
OTHER owners ARE finding - out of OUR fuel tanks!

Years ago I had a new Camaro. Had nice aftermarket stereo in
it. While in for service, on the dealer's (fenced & locked) lot
overnight - stereo & a good part of the dash was ripped out.
[probably an "inside" job].

Dealer says - contact your insurance. I said no way - your lot,
you are responsible - contact YOUR insurance. Service mgr and
I had lengthy "debate". Eventually was tough bannanas (from
the dealer). (My) insurance replaced dash - and stereo was pro-rated.

Insurance Co - could care less, even though they should have gone
after the dealer (ins. writer agreed, but too much time/trouble).

Might add - that dealer didn't get any more of my business (or the
repair) - but I'm sure it didn't matter to them either.

Moral of the above story -
D/C may be passing the buck, and the
insurance company is going along with it!
