Does anyone in the Phx area have a 5th wheel setup that wants to follow me up Mout Ord and then tow my trailer back to phx when she goes boom

There has to be an easier way.... Maybe tow a trailer with the other truck on it, then when yours goes boom, have him tow you back! Heck, pour some diesel in the oil while you're at it. They couldn't have got it all out.... That will lessen the drive out.

But I also worry that you'll either be unable to destroy the engine, you'll destroy some other expensive part that won't be covered, or you'll be caught on surveillance video roasting your rig.....
Good luck man. You were dealt a crappy hand, now you have to win the pot with it.... Maybe run the engine on straight diesel in the crankcase and drain it when it blows.... Put used oil in it though

The injector failing it common period. They crack or just wear out. With the smoke issue you have probably warn the valve guides and rings. The lost in fuel mileage is probably due to bearing wear and the enginee is having to do more work, thus using more fuel. Could be the reflash as well. The cummins is built with heavy duty parts so it will take a while to completely fail, but they will fail. If you get 200k with out a rod or main bearing spinning I would be suprised. The edge wouldn't have caused this if it doesn't do anything with the pressure. It was likely the poor filtration issue and ULSD. This will be a tough battle with the dealer. Most them don't know how to inspect bearings on the rods or mains. Even if they are ok your cam may have some wear and the head will have some wear. If you can find a dealer that choses to out source their cummins work to a local cummins place that would be your best bet. They are few and far between but still some out there. It will be a matter of time of when it will go. So you fight to get it repaired as they should(but good luck) or start saving your cash now for a rebuild and build the motor for play or logevity.
