Gotta love that last line..

"Starting with model year 2008, a Cummins engine will also be the standard offering for the Ford F650 and 750, replacing engines built by Navistar."

Well guys I live in the town that has Nissans proving ground. I do know for a fact that they are working on such a beast. I have some inside information from there and it looks like it will either be a 2008 or 2009 model when it comes out. They have all of the US trucks there and test them to destruction. For example, they have blown up 2 Ford PowerPukes automatic transmissions in less than 4k miles! I will try to find out the scoop on the engines in the next day or two.

Trust me, they are coming out with one. What it turns out to be only the bean counters know for sure! I know what the engineers want!

Nissan, Toyota and Mitsubishi all have commercial truck divisions, so any of them can build a truck to hold a Cummins. From a JDPower survey of Japanese commercial diesel trucks:
Among the four manufacturers included in the study, Hino (Toyota) ranks highest in overall customer satisfaction with a score of 637. Hino receives particularly high ratings from owners for the total cost of ownership. Isuzu follows Hino in the rankings with a score of 615, while Mitsubishi Fuso and Nissan Diesel tie to rank third with a score of 608.

It seems like every thread has someone bring up a Nissan. WHy is this? Is there something special that I am missing about these foreign trucks?

Yeah maybe that they are dead reliable, not squeeky and rattly built with quality and standards, lets see what else, oh they honor their warranties.

There is a thread in the general section about this. I'll try and find it. It said in another article that Nissan was going to use "fords engine supplier" for their diesel. I also read in a diffirent article that when toyota makes a diesel truck it will have a toyota diesel as toyota likes to make everything in house. Also, an article said that the new v6 and v8 cummins' will be in 1500 Ram and Durango's.

Here's the thread. It actually says that IF dodge is the "unnamed manufcturer" that it will be in rams and durango's. It does give HP and TQ ratings for both.
