Coolant leak?

I need some help guys (and gals). I haven't had time or enough light to check this fully yet. I have what I think is a rusty water leak on the passenger side of the block. Its just infront of the oil filter but I can't tell for sure, but there is a pump at the bottom of the engine on that side and it looks like the water is leaking down between the block and this pump. Anybody ever had this? Is this something I can fix on my own or is this going to be a warranty issue on the 7/100?
TIA
BC

The last couple of days I've found a pancake sized puddle of coolant in the garage. I'm suspecting the coolant circulator (aka water pump).

That's about the size I get. The weird thing is it looks like a light colored engine oil, and it is a little slippery. I did the best I could to determine where it's coming from. It looks like it could be the water pump as I did find a couple drops just below and to the passanger side of the water pump. The dealership called me back and said the WP is not covered under the 100K warranty. :-( I'm not sure this is a job I want to do. Last time I did one of these was on a 1992 F-150 and it was pain. This one looks like it could be even harder to change out.

Your dealer is misstaken. It is covered under the 7yr/100,000 mile engine warranty. You only have to pay the deductable on year number 6 and 7 only which is $100.

Spooler is 100% correct. Its not the Dealer that's wrong its a EMPLOYEE that's wrong.Tell him to go look in his POLICY AND PROCHEDURES manual for warranty coverages.Bet he doesn't know what or where that manual is!

Crap! I just paid $295 for a new water pump and system flush yesterday afternoon. My dealer said the water pump was not part of the drivetrain. I wish I wasn't in a bind and could have drove over to the dealership and "discussed" this with them.

Water pump is relativity easy on these trucks. Its covered as already mentioned.I'd have a TUNE UP talk with the dealer and get my money back on the pump. They need to bill Chrysler(warranty claim). Not you.

Seems to me for $300.00 I'd get out of a bind.

Oh, I'm going to the dealership to discuss this today. The problem now is I had the work done at a shop close to my house not at the dealer. Just an FYI here, the dealer wanted $495 for this job. That's one of the reasons I didn't make the drive to them...that and I didn't know if the water pump would make it that far too. (Insert bad words here!)

In fact Chrysler would have paid a tow bill to the NEAREST dealer on a covered item.Call 1-800-992-1997 have vin and invoice handy, mileage also.Tell you need some of your money back due to misinformed personal.Call dealer owner and tell them same thing and if THEY new their warranty's 'they"would have had a JOB and some revenue coming in.They might have ALSO gotten a cooling system service etc.on top of it.Only thing the deasler would not have made good money on was paying a tow bill. They would not have lost anything but I don't think they can get a markup out of warranty towing.
