I have a 2004 3500 and I was driving it today and the brake light on the dash is blinking. I'm hoping there is an easy solution to this problem.

did you release your parking brake? Is your "a.b.s" light on as well? ( yellow light to the lower right)...

 

I did release the e-brake. The ABS light is not on. I set the parking brake, got out of the truck, got back in, released the brake and had the light kept flashing.

 

i would look at the E-brake. At the top of it there is a sensor that has to come into contact with the E-brake when its released. If its not touching just bend it a lil bit so it does. It flashes when you put in gear? So check for play on the Ebrake setup under dash. Also easy way to check it. With truck off and on flat ground/wheels chocked. Put in gear and it should flash. Pull up on the foot pedal and see if it goes off.

 

with the key in the own position it WAS flashing. I fiddled with the brake cable and it went off!
