Connector near the driver side battery - please help

This past weekend I decided to re-install my mileage max box and noticed a connector which looks to mate to another connector but I can not find the other half anywhere. This has got me stumped - any help would be appreciated. Is this connector supposed to be like this - maybe a temperature sensor?

Bump

Can anyone with a 04.5 check under the hood to see where their connector is going?

Thanks

Connector, drivers side battery

As far as location, the connector is coming from the harness that runs along the top of the firewall (just below where the rear of the hood seals. It has a short harness from the main harness and it is located about a foot off of the drivers side fender.

Any help in where this connector is either connected to or not connected to on other users trucks would be appreciated.

It should go into bottom of master cylinder resorvoir. Sensor for fluid level.

I'm not going to be much help either. Mine has a similar plug on the [U]passenger[U] side that goes nowhere, but nothing like that on the driver's side.

Agree with Bighorn, it's the sensor for low brake fluid. Mounts in the bottom of the master cyl resevor. Not avail as a stand alone item but if you can find a used cylinder you can just remove it and replace your broken one. The dealer broke mine when they changed the broken filter mounted lift pump on my 04.5. They ordered a new cylinder, only way it came, but then just replaced the sensor without changing the whole resevor. For them it was the cheap/easy way and the charged the resivor to warranty anyways.

Connector - where it goes

I will take a look, mine seems to have a resistor with a circuit board where as St. Rodder 2's looks to be like it goes into a sensor, maybe the brake master cylinder.

I will look in the morning but I do not think it goes in the master cylinder.

Fluid level switch

Connector goes to 3

1 - Master Cylinder Cap
2 - Fluid Reservoir
3 - Fluid Level Switch
4 - Master Cylinder
5 - Mounting Bolt
6 - Grommets
