Cold start - cloud of white smoke and little rough

Started to happen in the last month. Does not matter the temp outside (But, it been anywhere from 36 56 here) Trucks starts but always let's out a clound of smoke and little rough for 5 sec then it sounds fine, and runs fine.

I noticed the RPM staying around 800 RPM

Any thoughts?

Smoke

So what can I expect to see happen next? What do you recommend doing replacing the one or two that are out, or replace all at the same time? What brand replacements?

Next, and it could possible be quite a while, you'll start having the hard start issues and idle will progressively become more rough. If money is an issue you can simply replace the injector/injectors that are failing but it's a band-aid fix at best. If you can afford a week or so of down time you can pull all 6 and send them in to either F1 Diesel (Don M) or the guys at Exergy Engineering.......both are quality places to deal with. It's an easy job if you have any mechanical abilities at all. A few SAE and metric handtools will do the job.

What next???? A no start or a melted piston or pistons. Take your pick. Injector issues are the number one cause of motor issues. Rebuilds are cheap for these engines.
