Codes that don't seem to have anything to do with each other

My buddy just called about his 2004 CTD.

He said he was driving down the highway and for no apparent reason it puked a bunch of white smoke and check engine light came on.
He pulled the codes and wound up with these.
They don't seem to have anything to do with each other.
Could it be as simple as a loose/bad/corroded connector?

P0016 Crankshaft/Camshaft Timing Misalignment/Out-of-Sync
P0237 Turbocharger Boost Pressure Sensor Low
P0193 Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor High
P0633 SKIM Key Not Programmed in PCM

I would start with looking for loose connections on the crank sensor.

Reset the codes and see if they come back.

On vehicles in general, bad grounds can cause realty strange, seemingly unrelated problems.

Verify the speed indicator ring is properly positioned relative to the locating pin in the front face of the crankshaft. Visually inspect the condition of the tone wheel, ESS, and EPS for damage.
Check the mechanical alignment of the camshaft gear to the crankshaft gear. I have seen the crankshaft gear slip on the crankshaft and shear off the locating pin.
