clutch problem/nv5600
On my 05 2500,I m running out of floorboard under the clutch pedal. When the pedal is released,it starts to grab about a quarter of an inch from the floor. And it has been getting hard to get into gear.I slid under it today to look to see if it was adjustable. It s not.I don t have any hydraulic leaks. The fluid is not low.The clutch is not slipping. I don t get it .Any help would be great, dont know how much time it has left before it leaves me .

It's possible your hydros are bad. Not leaking, but the lines could be swelling, and therefor not moving the lever far enough to allow a clean take-up near the middle of the engagement range.

Try pumping the clutch and see if it gets better. If it does then the hydrolics need replacing. If not you need to check the throwout bearing. It could be worn and if it is dragging it could be wearing the fingers on the pressure plate.

When I searched I came up with this thread.
My 04 is doing the exact same thing here. There is not any noise coming from the trow out bearing and I just replaced my clutch slave/master cylinder about 3 months ago.
What did you figure out?

My clutch felt like it was not releasing and it happened suddenly. After removing the clutch I found that the pilot brg. had piled up. After 272000kms or 170,000 miles (mostly Towing ) I decided to replace the clutch assembly. The parts store where I bought the clutch told me that the pilot brg fails often on Dodges and Fords before the clutch is worn out. The disk on the new clutch was only 23 thousands of an inch thicker that the worn one. The clutch assembly came with a new release brg and pilot brg. but I chose to use a oilite bronze bushing for a pilot brg. instead of the one that was supplied The bushing is 1" long and the brg was only about .6" long. I know I am not the first guy to do that.

take the slave cylinder off and see how much travel is in the clutch fork. pull it twards the out side then push all the way forward and mesure the travel. should be like 5/8 travel.
Mine was doing the same thing but from new I had about 1" of travel.
If you have the upgraded hydraulics you can take off the little backer plate that is on the slave it is about a quarter of an inch that will help slightly.
