I have about 23,000 miles on my truck and have started to notice a squeeking like binding rubber when I let up the clutch pedal. The motion of the pedal upward is no longer as smooth and this causes some jerking as the clutch is released. Could the master or slave cylinder be going bad?

yes, make sure the fluid is full in the slave cylinder. Most fail because they develop a leak and the owner runs it that way until the cylinder fails. Take it to the deeler.

 

Thanks for the help! I haven't noticed anything on the ground, but I suppose there isn't a lot of fluid in there to start with and it could be leaking. I will take a look before I bring it in to the dealer.

 

Something beens posted about a plastic rod or pivot wearing egg shaped at the pedal assemy itself.

I took my truck to the dealer today and they replaced the clutch master/slave cylinder units. Only took them about 45 minutes! Now the clutch is smooth as butter. Great dealer, great service tech!
