Clatter noise under load?
So I hear a gentle (though it's loud enough to hear over my straight pipe and the CTD itself) clatter noise when the drivetrain is engaged (stick, see below). It is related to RPM and goes quicker as the drive is faster. I do not believe it is speed related, but rather engine RPM.
Is it the fingers on the pressure plate clattering? Could that be worn out? Or the clutch worn? I pulled a 3-4K trailer 2 days ago and it felt good, no obvious slipping or anything.. Other ideas?? I dunno if that might be the sound of something else or what... ?
And yeah, the tires are all good, alignment is good, truck doesn't pull, shudder, etc, not a drivetrain wobble (the shaft was replaced less than 10K ago, on top of this), the xfer case just had a service, etc....

May want to check the tranny fluid level. If it is coming from the tranny I would think you could feel it in the shifter. Also, did it start after the transfer case was serviced? I think it takes ATF+4. A manual guy will have to chime in on that one.

It was like that before the xfer case service I'm pretty sure. I haven't checked the level in the tranny lately... come to think of it it is a little chunky on shifting every now & then. I guess I can get some redline MTL and see how it does. 3 qts, right guys? Is there anything I can get at the local pepboys or something tomorrow that I can use so I don't have to mail order?
