Checking wheel bearings

Anyone know a good way to check the front bearings on my06? Going on a 1900 mile trip next wk.

Jack front of truck up and grab tire at top and pull back and forth if any play I would do a wheel bearing job.

Are your front hubs a sealed unit like the ones on the 2WD models? In that case you can't R & R the wheel bearings, you change the whole hub assembly.
