Check those alternator brackets boys!

Re:Check those alternator brackets boys!
No symptoms here either. I'd probably never have even caught it without knowing about the TSB. I had to look REAL close to see the cracks on mine.

wishinIhadtimetodetailmyengineChris

OK, Hoss, Look real close. They look like fine lines. See quote from FiverBob

Quote from: FiverBob on May 14, 2003 12:38:34 PM

OK, OK, so I can't see. So many of you saying yours is cracked, I put my specs on a looked again. Yep, I'm cracked. Well, my bracket is anyway. Mine is still so shiny and pretty I almost had to scrape away the paint to see it. New one ordered.

EggOnFaceBob (yeh, and the specs )

Serial number is located on the Cummins Federal Emmisions Certification plate on the left side front of engine. The plate bends around the top-front edge and the ser 3 in on the portion facing the radiator, kinda difficult to see due to reflections.

8) 8)

Re:Check those alternator brackets boys!
Yep mine is cracked too. It was built in December. It sure would be nice if the local dealer would just hand the new bracket to me and allow me to install it myself. I know they would insist on installing it. The dealer where I purchased my truck is 165 miles away. I had two leaking cab lights and the local dealer said they had to install them due to warranty concerns. Heaven forbid if we ever have a bulb burn out. I had to purchase them and install myself. It was cheaper than missing work to let them install them. It took this dealer 2 1/2 hours to do the CO2 recall. >

It is useless as returned.

I called the service adviser and asked him to retrieve the cup from the old assembly. "Just tag it with my name and keep it at the service desk for me to pick up the next time I'm by the dealership", I told him ( It is a 60 minute round trip there and back.) All I have to do these is visit the dealer.

How I love this 5-STAR service. They must love my visits.

Re:Check those alternator brackets boys!
Has anybody had to pay for these TSB alternator brackets? Or are the parts and labour covered by Dodge?
