check engine light

how do i read codes i hear many people talking about turning the ignition on then off like 3 or 4 times i tried that and get nothing, i have a check engine ligh on and i wanted to see whats going on before i go into the dealership! please help asap

On, not start. So on til the dash lights up.

on/off, on/off, on!
look at the mileage indicator and you will see letter/numbers.

Pxxx and when completed it will say DONE.

tried that ? dont know what else to do how long am i supposed to wait and how many times am i supposed to do this?

There is no wait time. I just did it twice in a row. I'm a 2004.

Where are you located? Autozone and places like that will scan it for you.
But I'm pretty sure this works on 06's.


Leave your drivers door open, only so you can hear the seatbelt warning.
Insert, key turn on until the dash lights and you hear the seatbelt chime.
turn key off. leave it in!!
Turn on, listen for chime.
Turn off.
Turn on and leave on... and watch the odometer. Don't rush this part, give it 10 seconds at least.

got the codes any ideas p0111 and p0191 can these be fixed on my own what are they?
