Change Front hubs 2WD
Has anyone changed their front wheel hubs yet? IF so what is involved? It looks to me like they have to be pressed out...

I haven't done it but it's looks pretty simple. It's a unitized assembly so the hub comes out as one piece. The mounting bolts are on the backside of the steering knuckle.

i did it and it is so easy. remove the brake rotor and caliper. after that it is 3 bolts on the reverse side of the hub going through the spindle. i cant remember what size the bolts are, dont hold me to this i think they are 15mm. remove the 3 bolts and unplug the abs sensor and it comes out. pretty strait foward. a little tip, when you are installing the new hubs, clean the bolts making sure there is no rust and put some anti-seize on the bolt threads and reinstall. hope that helps ya

Thanks guys, I looked at it yesterday and saw the 3 bolts. I went and bought the new assembly and will have it in today.
When I first looked at it, I thought that maybe it was pressed into the spindle, I'm glad that's not the case. My biggest complaint is how much the part costs...$382 plus tax! Well at least I'll save the $250 labor that Dodge wanted.

i did both of mine and it was funny, the 2wd hubs at the Dodge *********** i went to were more exspensive than the 4x4 hubs. i wish we had the old school hubs that we could rebuild ourselves versus these stupid sealed bearing units. another one of Dodge's ingenus ideas
