Can't Spin Tires Doing a Powerbrake!?!?
#17
Ok, just tried again with varying amounts of brake and still no tire spin. It did spin a little when I let off the brake and held WOT, but not while rolling or sitting still.
I guess it's time to call HTS.

1. You will not get enough fuel until 5 mph to really light the tires up. The ECU defuels until it sees enough of a signal from the ABS. Drag the brakes until it gets rolling then floor it while holding the brakes and it should roll down the road with both tires smoking. You need at least 5 mph and 12 psi of boost to get decent fueling.
2. It is REALLY REALLY REALLY hard on an auto transmission to power brake it and hold it. TC will suffer premature demise at the hands of the 5.9 doing this. Dragging the brakes and spinning the tires is way easier on it.

Mine will do it with the right amount of roll. I spool it and then let of the brake a little, get 'em spinnin' and hit the brake again. Big tires sure do leave ALOT of smoke and stripes, especially when I flip the mystery switch. Plus chicks dig it

That 6.7 burnout video has me jealous. We all know the 5.9 should have no problem smoking tires (my 1st gen will no problem) so it must be due to the TM. I'm tempted to give the wild TM a try just to see if it will do it, then put it back to mild. It's not like I want to go around smoking the tires, but not being able to is bothering me now.

There's something wrong then. 28psi boost w/ power adder, and no spinning tires? Should have either taken 10,000 miles off your rear tires or blew up your driveline.
I don't own a Dodge, but a couple of the 06's I test drove would burn 'em just by standing onthe throttle and again on the up shift.

Ok, thanks to all the advice the problem has been solved!
Tried again (with same Smarty program) from a slow roll and sure enough they went up in smoke and left 2 nasty black marks for a good 20' after I let off the brake all the way! The reason it wouldn't spin them before when I let off with 26+psi of boost is because it was already defueling. I could definitely feel the point where it defuels right as the tires started to break loose.
I guess my TC will live to see another day after all. Probably won't make it to see two days though.

My 06 will white smoke both tires like nothing, especially when I powerbrake it a little. It's hard to believe yours wont just burn them down. Only mods to mine are an ARE exhaust kit which consists of 4" in tube, (cat back) and a big free flowing muffler that sounds like a Flowmaster, a boost fooler, other than that all stock. Stay in it a little longer and try not to hold the brakes so hard...
