i have amsoil interceptor 2 stroke synthetic oil for my sled. its ashless. would it hurt if i added it to my fuel tank (6-10 oz)? or do i need petroleum/mineral based lubricants?

I'm pretty sure you can, but there is no use in wasting that high dollar stuff when the cheapy wally world 2stroke is just as good.

 

Yes you can use it and it works without any problems. One person has used it for 2 years and is very happy doing so.

 

I have heard of people havin problems when they run waste motor oil thats synthetic, but i think you should be fine since its small amounts. I personaly use the cheap wally world brand.

 

keep in mind, that synth 2 stroke amsoil is red if I am not mistaken, keep the empty bottle in the truck with you and a log of its use in case you get caught " red fueled "

 

I take your just wanting it as upper clyinder lube an too clean an lube the fuel system ? Amsoil makes fuel concentrate that dilutes 1oz too 5 gal I've been useing it for the last 10000 mi with good results . I get a little better miliage with it , but I think the best proof of a clean system came when a friend of mine gave me some Bio Diesel too try . He warned me too keep a spair fuel filter with me I did but I've never had to use it . So I guess my system must be pretty clean .

 

what u mean clean? fuel filter is b4 engine? r u saying biodiesel cleans tank?

 

Yep i've been told that more than once . When you first start useing Bio it will clean up most of the varnish thats in the tanks an fuel lines an total system . So as the filter starts to catch that stuff it starts restricting flow. But after a tank or so your pretty much back too normal .

Don't know of any on line maps of Bio stations for Canada but you could try Google to see if one shows up for your area of Canada.

synthetic 2-stroke oil is meant to be burned.... synthetic crank case oil is not.
