Can a SO catch up to a HO?

Can a SO catch up to a HO?
Please forgive me as I'm sure this has been covered at some point.
What is the difference between the Kali SO and the HO? Not numbers but physical differences. Computer, injectors?
With the aftermarket computers, they all seem to start from the stock numbers and go up from there.
If the HO is in Kali now, I don't understand why DC does not offer a retro kit. One from Cummins?
Thanks.

Of the three, TST, Bullydog and Banks, Banks is at the bottom. What I'm looking for is can a SO be caught up to a HO with stock stuff. What would I have to get to make my SO a HO. Then, if I do juice it up, I'll end up with more. I'm not unhappy with the SO. Not by a long shot. It's one of the best vehicles I've owned. I want to know the physical differences that actually make the power. Not the ones like the oil system.

The only physical difference is the pistons. SO pistons are gallery cooled (oil splashes up from crank shaft webs onto the bottom of the piston. HO pistons are nozzle cooled (pressurized noozle sprays oil on bottom of piston). Other than that, the only difference is in the ECM calibration.
