Can fuel affect shifting?
The past week, the shifting felt "stiff" on my truck. It was not a smooth transaction when letting out the clutch. I was beginning to worry about the clutch, then today I got a new tank of fuel. After a few miles, the truck felt like it was shifting much better.
My first tank was from a local in town station, that doesn't do much diesel business. The recent tank was a much higher volume station. I've read numerous forums about poor quality fuel at the low volume stations.
Could be it was just in my head, and the engine running better just made it feel smooth when shifting, but it really felt like there was more resistance in the shifter when running on the first tank of fuel.
AM I CRAZY?
