can the 250 hp motor be updated to 305hp?

can the 250 hp motor be updated to 305hp?
i know thw ho motor has oil squirters for the pistons but is there anything other than the computer thats different?

With the use of a Smarty it will bring the motor up to par and then some.
I don't think their is to many differences. Mainly computer limitations to control emissions. That and some of the SO's came w/ cats.
You should fill out your sig so we know what your running.

i trade tucks to often to tell what i have. lol
are the injectors different on the so and ho? im just trying to get closer to the 325hp trucks. this truck just feels slow compaired to my 05, smarty or no smarty.

I' m honestly not sure if the injectors are different or not. I believe on the 04.5 up trucks the injectors are different, don't take that to the bank just yet. Hopefully someone can chime in there.

No difference in injectors, SO or HO. The oil squirters are the same too... "saddle" type as opposed to the 04.5 and up "J" nozzles.
The biggest difference, HO to SO in the 03-04 models is just programming, which, as was posted, is nullified by the smarty.
In order to see the real benefit of the smarty (and why the 04.5 and up still "feels" stronger in spite of smarty) you need to improve the turbo! The HE351 turbo in the 04.5 and up trucks flows quite a bit more than the HE341 that is in there now.
