Can a 03 S.O. be flashed to a H.O.?
I was just wondering?
Also what is different about the two engines besides programming?
Also, Where is the boost pressure sensor and can a regulator be put in front, like on my ford, of it so it wont see too much boost?
Also, for the DIY people, what size pipe are you guys putting in place of the baffles in the intake?
Sorry for so many newbie questions-but gotta start somewhere!!
Thanks Justin

I would be interested in this as well. I live near Edmonton and went into NADP and was told the SO and the HO are the same except for the computer programming. Thusly I put a Edge Juice with the Attitude monitor on it. Like night and day. The wife was complaining that it didn't pass like the Hemi did. Well it does now. As for the boost sensor, if you go to the EDGE site and download the install instructions it shows you where it is. (aka maps manifold absolute pressure senser) I presume the EDGE does what you are talking about because you disconnect the Cummins cable from the senser, connect the Edge cable to the sensor and then plug the Cummins cable into the Edge harness. It can't be done by a dealer. I agree with Mike67RS (camaro right?)
Differences are gallery cooled pistons (splashed to the underside of the piston) vs. nozzle cooled pistons (oil directed with nozzles to underside of piston). Can't remember if there was anything else besides the calibration itself.

OK next ?
Being HO is rated 305 and SO is 250---when a programmer is installed-does it make the two basically equal in the higher HP modes.
Also, what if I came across a PCM for a HO??
Thanks Justin

The SOs usually respond better to performance boxes, meaning, the same box on an SO will make more additional rwhp than on an HO but in the end the HO will still make more power!
Back when I had my EZ I pulled it off and put it on a 305HO and I was amazed at the fact that it did not seem as strong as mine plus it was not as smooth.

I have the CA SO so even worse than others at 235hp. I wonder if we can benfit from the cam sensor modification

and maybe even add a box that does timing on top of that?

I have a "03" SO and put on a Dr Performance level 2. Big difference. I think they say it ups it to 80 hp and 100# torque. I got about 10% increase in my milage if you arn't always seeing if it still works! It has been on for 20,000 miles so far. I love it! It will boil the tires as far as you want!!!!!

Apparently people are not having good success with some boxes and the timing advance engine speed sensor
The compression ratio is the same for 235, 250, and 305 (17.2:1 I think).
You could use the PCM from a 305, but it would not be programmed for your VIN and would not carry the correct "Secret Key" if you had SKIM (thick grey ignition key vs. a thin black key for without SKIM).

is it true that the CA 235hp engines are detuned more so than the 250hp engines? Not sure how this is done but if its timing related does this mean that there is a lot of room to advance the timing?
