Cam change questions for PDR Cam
1. Is it necessary to change lifters when the cam is changed? 62,000 miles on the lifters and OEM cam.
2. Can the lifters be change in frame? How is it done?
Thanks,

Ratsun,
Why is there no problem using old lifters with the new cam in a cummins? I'm not doubting you because I'm no diesel guru by any means. All I know is that back when we were racing a lot with SBC's we found out the fastest way to ruin a new cam was to run it with old lifters. The cam/lifters were designed to wear in together and when the cam was changed, the contact area was different between the new cam and old lifters causing premature wear. I will admit most of the time we had quite a bit of spring pressure though.
Just curious
thanks
Dave
