Brake Pad Wear

Getting ready for the first and last warranty run and was making my list. I now have 63K on the truck and the drivers side read brake pads are really worn compared to the rest. Is this a warranty claim? Other than defective pads what would cause this?

No, it is not a warranty repair. Brakes, belts, and tires or such of the like are items of normal wear and tear. They are not covered under any warranty.

Like spooler said. The only time they may replace these items is when the componet fails due to a warrantied componet failure. Such as a A/C compressor failure, or a defect in the brake caliper (leaking etc).

I pulled the wheel off to get a better look. The outside pad is about 1/2 the thickness of the inside pad. Does this mean the caliber is sticking? How do you correct this problem?

Clean and lubricate the slide pins on the caliper.
Pads are usaully only warrantied if they wear out in within the first 10k miles, same goes for the clutch. All though it would depend on the dealer.

Yes, this problem is caused by the caliper sticking on the slides due to lack of grease or a pitting problem. I have heard the rears are noted for this and they have some plates that cover that part of the caliper to protect them from this problem (flying rocks). I don't remember the part number or who has them.
