Not to sound like a broken record player but........... he did have performance adders that everyone KNOWS will void your warranty. Putting everything back to stock to tow it to a dealer would not be something you do if you are "right"

(2005 Dodge 2500 Cummins 4x4
AFE intake, 5" turbo Back exhaust, Edge EZ. Triple Dog, BD tranny-custom built with billet shafts
stage 3 water/meth 13.52 @98.2 MPH)
LOL, pretty obvious this motor was hammered . they can take a look at the computer and check and see if pressure or boost were above factory specs and call you to come and get it. might want to delete your sig by the way there "good ole boy" never know who might be reading this and doing some printing!

Hey, with what's happening in this country, it's every man for himself. Just email the Sec of Treasury, maybe they'll bail you out with a new engine...You deserve it just as much as everyone else collecting free taxpayer money. How are you any different than GM, Chrysler, or any bank? Didn't play by the rules, got burned, and trying to cover it up.

Good luck.

If you can get away with it, go for it, it's the American way.

I call total BS on that statement. Everyone's acceptance of lying and cheating by saying "everyone else is doing it" is EXACTLY what is wrong with this country. Everyone despises the CEO's and bankers but how are they different? They got theirs when they could. Read post 14 real good. Here are a few instances where I "paid to play"

Heres another one.......

3 clutches, 2 sets of U-joints, leaking CP3, FCA, timing sensor, and a few oil leaks I took care of myself when the truck was still under warranty.

While I don't think it is right you are the exception and not the rule. Good ol boy is right, MOST guys would do the same thing.....unfortunately.

So where did the oil go? Was the crankcase completely empty or just below the level of the dipstick? That is the key to figuring out what happened. Not even a Fram will drink oil!
Setting aside the moral issue... Did you discover where the oil went? There must be some evidence of major oil loss?

I have absolutely no love lost if you try and get the chrysler to warranty the repair.

Last time I went to the dealer to see why my front driver side wheel had more brake dust on it than the other. Their response was that the slider had seized and that it was my cost to repair (truck had 30K on it) Drivers side had 5% wear left on pad, Passengers had better than 70% left on it suggesting that this problem had been ongoing for quite sometime.
They held a gun to my head and told me the rotors had to be replaced as well as the pads, and brake fluid changed to stay in the warranty. TO the tune of $700. I paid it because I could not get my truck into anywhere else and have the work done in that day, reulting in me losing a days pay.

Funny I returned the truck to the dealer the following week complaining about the the front pads squealing. They phoned me back to tell me that it was the back brakes and not the fronts making the noise, and that someone had changed the pads wihtout turning the rotors..... Funny my truck never did that before the brake job... Someone changed the rear brakes by mistake when they should have changed the front. They told me I would have to pay to have the rotors turned and changed the rear pads. At this point I told them to stick it. My truck HAS never been in for brake work or any work by any other dealer or garage since I have owned it (2 years) and never had brake work period. Even though THey have done all the tire rotations since new........

Go buy a truck tomorrow then go take it back a week later to use as a trade in and the same salesman that said you had just bought the best truck in the world is now the same guy telling you that, that same piece of crap you are driving is only worth 50% of what you paid for it. I wonder how many people have bought a car for a price and then to see the manufacturer have a huge sale the following week and nobody mentioned a word to the buyer beforehand or even try to make it right.

All the car manufactures have been the screws to us for years with their every person for themselves atitude. They would hose you in a sec if you let them.

Sorry for the rant, But there are more stories of us (the consumers) being nailed by the dealerships and manufacturers than the other way around.

Take the truck in if they warranty great, if they don't you are no worse of then before.

I know you have to Pay to Play .
I Put a $7000 tranny in my truck even though it had warranty because I know it was my fault. I do not believe this was my fault and that something went wrong. Now if I had my chips cranked up and Hit 2000F EGTs and melted the engine down that would be my fault. Its going in to the Dealer at the end of the month. I will let you guys know what happens

This in not what everyone does tho. I ruined my motor and paid to have it rebuilt, I didn't try to get it done under warranty. Look at it this way since you have probably going to have to rebuild take it to a reputable builder and have them build it the way it should have been like I did. Richard Brown did an amazing job with my motor...

I can see both sides. Sure if it breaks because of mods it's your fault and shouldn't claim warranty but I can see the point that dealers and such try to screw over people anyway possible so why not try to get it covered? Then I can see the other side that is people with mods are trying to get all these repairs done, and it makes it harder for people who have a legit claim.

Have to look to see were the oil went? If it's not even on the dipstick that has to be atleast half of it gone, and it just doesn't disappear in a few days.

I used to use them as well. Then I saw two come apart on friend's vehicles. The first one ruined the engine because the owner tried to drive home. the second one was salvageable because he shut if off immediately. I saw that engine torn apart for rebuild. It looked like a family of mice had moved in. The filter paper was shredded by the pump and filled absolutely every opening in that engine. It was a ***** to clean out. I haven't used a Fram filter since. That was seven years ago.
