Hey folks; Buddies truck 03 1 ton with no real mods, 6 speed standard

recently he has started blowing grey smoke and dripping oil out the drip tube that comes out on top of the motor.

It still runs strong however he has parked it till we figure this out, I suspect a busted ring causing blowby, what would be the suggested course of action to make a determination on the problem

Are there other likely possible problems.
