Block Heater Timer?

X-10
Is this the X-10 your using/refering to? Looks like an all inclusive home control system. Cool though-

If you use one of these gadgets and the temperature is below 40 all night, it will stay on all night. Better off with a timer.

X-10 to control block heater

here is a link to the X-10 - the system can automate your entire house, but you don't have to go that far - I just use one of the control units, and switches for some of the outside lights, and an outlet in the garage for the block heater. I bought my stuff 12 years ago, and it has worked every day since with only one problem (one of the light swhitches failed).
I just update the turn on time if the late night weather forecast shows its going to be a lot colder or warmer overnight than the previous night - very convenient to just do it from inside the house. I plug the truck in each time I park in the driveway, and just turn on the heater before I'm going to use it from the control unit - it lets you do it manually, or on the timer.
Hope this helps
