Black Smoke From 610 Baby!!!!!!!
i am getting black smoke every time i start off from a hard start. i'm talking about a "lot" of black smoke. enough to black out a intersection. my truck is stock. anyone else having this "problem"?
i love it by the way. although i don't do it all the time with the fuel prices the way they are now.

my stockk 04.5 progam didnt, the new magic mileage fixed that, but even tonight it did it. sometimes she will black out the intersection. but i can stop at the next ligh, slam the go pedal again and only get a lil puff and thats it. I really cant figure out whats going on with it. sometimes i wonder ifthe turbo stays open, Other times maybe the truck forgets it doesnt have boost? I dunno

i have noticed mine doing this now. im not sure if it started before or after i took out the silencer ring and baffle. i checked for leak in the connection where i took the baffle out but dont see any. i get the smoke when crusin and then step on it to pass or to **** a ford or chevy off when their window is down . hope this is normal. i only have 6k on it.

The only time mine will put out any serious amount of smoke is when it's still cold (cold meaning I haven't been driving it in the past 8 hours or so) and hasn't warmed up yet. Then, if I put my foot into it (especially at low RPM's), it will smoke pretty good. The engine is also much louder. After it warms up it doesn't smoke much at all...and it's much quieter.

If it is stock and makes a lot of BLACK smoke then I would think something is wrong. I have tried 3 different performance boxes and they dont make much smoke at all. Some black smoke until the turbo catches up. I have no black smoke without the boxes. Most posts I have seen on either 305/555 or 325/600 just don't make much black smoke in a basically stock form. I would think a lot of black smoke means a lot of over fueling or loss of turbo supplied air. I think either would possibly be harmful if continued. Just my .02.

After reading the above posts it looks like the new 05's and the reflashed (reprogrammed) 04's smoke more. I think it is just in the programming, maybe trying to get around turbo lag by dumping a little more fuel. Mine will smoke but not enough to black out an intersection, even my 99 juiced up could not do that. Just my speculation after reading the above posts.

i just did some drive test.
floorin it from a dead stop it doesnt smoke.
floorin it while cruzin lots of smoke but if i go back to cruzin and floor it again within a minute + or - it doesnt smoke like it did the first time. what would this suggest if anything? not much of a mech here. cruzin speed would be between 35 and 65mph. so, it seems to do this only when the engine has time to rev up between tranny shifts compared to a dead stop.

Your sig doesn't say whether you have an auto or manual... if you have the manual and are flooring it while at a low RPM in a high gear, you might get some smoke. With the auto, it should downshift and get the rev's and boost up too quick to smoke.. unless you have a problem.

Ok guys... I somehow unsubscribed to this thread and I didn't know it was still going.
After reading all of the comments I figured I better reply. I may have gotten a little carried away when I started this thread. When I said that I could black out an intersection I might have been exaggerating a bit. It doesn’t really “black” out the intersection. My fault. I was just happy to see black smoke coming from my truck. What happens is this…. When I really get on it, it will leave an impressive stream of black smoke behind the truck. This only happens when I “really” get on it. It is not this super black cloud of smoke but more of a black stream for as long as I keep my foot in it. If I just take off normal I don’t see any smoke. It is only when I “really” get on it. I first noticed it when I was pulling out into traffic and had to give her a lot of go pedal. After that I found a secluded place and found out what she would really do.
Sorry if I misrepresented my claim. I didn’t mean to mislead anyone. I was just excited I guess.
