Best $$ spent
I am short on time lately,so I paid to have my 48 tranny flushed, and adjusted the bands myself while on the lift.I must say this was the best money spent on my truck yet.The trans was flushed with over 4 gallons of fresh fluid with a new dealership filter. It shifts like new out of the box.No flash on the downshifts now and nice firm upshifts. If you are in doubt about the band adjust,I wouldnt think twice about it.Anything that makes it work this much better has to help the lifespan of the trans.

Glad that worked well for you...
I wish replacing the stock transmission was my 1st modification as it definitely was one of the best things I did to my truck. The transmission in these trucks can take a lot but once you drive an aftermarket one you will see the difference you are missing. Best of luck with your truck..

I am totally satisfied with the service .It shifts into o/d now instead of dropping in.I didnt have time to count how many turns it took to seat the adj nut on the bands, but it was more than 1 3/4 turns(the amt of turns out after seating it @72 in/lbs) I didnt even have time to install the new rotors and pads up ft this weekend.

I did a pan drop and filter change only and experienced the same results... really cleaned up the shifting, especially the OD hard drop... after reading on here about adjusting the bands, I decided to leave them.. for now...
glad to hear you had a good experience..

Did the same to the 05 but only the front band. Notice the change right away but still not that good. Shifts good all accept for od ,still hard shift under moderate acceleration but light or heavy throttle purfict shift. Don't know what to do, just let-up and let it shift and all is good but should not have to. The '96 on the other hand always shifts excellent. I guess new isn't always better

Normally I would never adjust them either, but with just shy of 400k miles I wanted to attempt it.My truck may have responded so well because of the mileage. However,my father has an 05 3500 srw,70k miles that runs and drives and shifts no better than mine now. This website has really helped my truck.Trans adjust,TV cable adjustment(04.5)learned to retrieve hr meter, and my wires at a/c comp were rubbed thru. Now to figure cruise out.Drops out on hills.Found cracked line where post said it would be.Fixed it but still same.
