BAD NEWS for sallyman, changed injectors today...
#18
no. it was a bad connection at the connector tube to injector which is very easy to do. pull the vavle cover and loosen the injector wires and pull one off at a time and see which injector is causing the smoking problem pull that injector and reinstall before spending alot of money on something else.

ill c. i have a 3rd party warranty that covers up to $2500 per claim. that should be the bulk of the bill if i need valve work or new head. i should maybe upgrade to studs then to? are our head bolts reusable? i know some are some arent.

From: North Carolina or Kentucky. Take your pick
All the valve jobs in the country are not going to fix excesssssssss white smoke on reving or driving. Very rare that seats burn on diesel or valve guide wear is a problem. JMHO of course. AT least do a cyliner compression test of sometype. A dealer can do a balance test with scan tool.

if a valve is burnt/warped/distorted and its not seating right you are telling me it cant make white smoke? if a valve isnt sealing right then you have low compression which doesnt ignite all of the fuel , which the piston squeezes through the exhaust valve thats not sealing and hence you get white raw fuel. i have so much white raw fuel that I could fill my friends garage to a white haze in 30 seconds.

You had all this smoke before you changed injectors right? didn't cure it?
If you don't know what cylinder it is, pull the cover and take one wire off an injector and run it a short while untill you figure out which cylinder it is.
This will throw codes, so a way to reset the cel's (uploader)
(DO NOT TOUCH THESE WIRES WHEN RUNNING) (100V peak can be shocky)
Then pull that injector and blow down the hole with a rubber tiped blow nozzle, you'll find out quick if its a valve.
Then you know what your looking at, head job - motor job.
Burnt valves on these arn't nearly as common as burnt pistons/rings

the only thing i wanna know is it possible to be able to hone in frame on cylinders 5 and 6....could a person even do our trucks in frame. ive done semi trucks in frame but our might be a little tougher
