BAD NEWS for sallyman, changed injectors today...

I changed my injectors today. still have white smoke/miss sound coming from exhaust.im thinking cracked/broke valve in head or piston. weird thing is all cylinders warm up quickly when u put your hand by each exhaust port. I totally unhooked my edge also. rail pressure is about 7000 psi idling. it goes up when i rev her up.

good news is that believe it or not i totally just didnt waste $3000 on the injectors i put in because my truck starts very very fast compared to before and when i rev her up she idles down like everyone elses truck now. also with doing the injectors and valve set she purrs awsome now.very very quiet except for the fact this other problem i still have....

any have any ideas????

From: North Carolina or Kentucky. Take your pick
Now that have partially blowed 3000 clams, why not take it to a dealer that can diagnois with their starscan. Someone can aim you to a knowledgable dealer in your general area. May be the best 100-200 dollars spendt. But they you won't buy a FSM. On second thought with reading of your equipment, doubt they can sort it out without it being restored to nearer stock.

While you had the injectors out a leakdown would have been a good idea.

Just look at the first time as practice. Pull the injectors again and use a rubber tipped blow gun and pressurize the cylinders. You will hear hissing out of the culprit. Are you sure you adjusted the valves correctly?

I would pull the exhaust manifold of the head and start the engine and see where the white smoke is coming from

yes i was thinking that. i have a crappy 3rd party warranty that covers engine parts but not injectors. they reiumburse me $2500 a claim. i might go with that and let a dealer/engine shop do it. i dont have a shop. i hate borrowing friends garages all the time.

Sell it.

I swear everytime I log on you have another issue.

You have more patience for what sounds like a POS than I do.

Good luck.

lol sorry. i think this is the last issue. after this the whole truck will be brand new. also i think by changing the injectors i solved alot of issues i had before. it idles and revs awsome now. just that the valve is burnt. also how much more to get head studs vs head olts. i might get that done now since head will be off.

will burnt valve keep engine overfueling? when i moved it out of shop to run it it revved high and wouldnt slow down. is it because excess fuel in 1 cylinder?

I would take 200 and go buy a good heater, heat up your garage and start pulling the head. If you do valve work it would be no problem.

I 2nd the seeing what exhaust port the smoke is coming out of, that will at least narrow it down to 1 cylinder (hopefully)

I do still agree, take it to the dealer, that will at least get you on the right path. I know a lot, but my scanner won't do everything the dodge one can

if i get all the valves done that might cause problems down the road would it not? Because doing all the valves will make the top end very strong and i could possibly start seeing blowby on the pistons then?just fix the bad valve ?
