Bad Fuel Milage

HI, My truck was getting 17-19 all day long. I went in to get my 30,000 mile done and my truck won't get over 12 now. they updated the computer they told me. My brother also went in a few weeks later and his 04 did the same thing at the same dealer. Does anyone know if Dodge is putting something in the computer to make the have less milage. Power is also down a lot. I went one size bigger tires 305's I can't see that making a big difference since I had 295's on it before when I was getting great milage.

I had them do a complete new update on the computer last time in and then I redid the superchips and no change.

Any help would be great

06 mega True flow intake, superchips, 5" exhaust, banks intake.

My 03 use to get 20-22hwy, and 17-19twn.
After numerous updates and computer flashes I am down around 15hwy and 11-14 twn.
So yes they can loose fuel milage with flashes.

if you actually measure your tires the 305s are probably shorter than your 295s were maybe your calcs are off? dot go by the computer readout

Be careful with how you calculate the mileage. Did you use the Superchips to adjust for your tire size? They may also be giving you grief over the warranty because of the programmer.

Most of the bad miliage comes from the auto. I blame the auto on mine. Look at most of the posts everyone with bad fuel miliage has 48re.

As for highway mileage, the NV5600 typically gets better mileage than the 48re, but the G56 transmissions have a lower "overdrive" and will typically be less than the auto. YMMV.

Question

Uh, just a question but...whats with the refalshes and why would the dealer go ahead and do it without asking the owner if he wants it done?
I would be more then upset if my truck was running great with good fuel mileage just to then have a Dealer reflash it during a oil change etc and kill my MPG!
