Bad Battery Clamp easy fix :)
So I havent started my truck in a month. I had the warning codes for Intermittant signal and charging system low. The battery gauge was dropping when it would start.
Id charge the batteries and nothing...wouldnt even turn over. Put in the key, instrument panel lights up but as soon as you go to start...dead. Couldnt even lock it with the remote.
After being told it was the alternator and then trying to find one...being told its a 600. fix , I left it. Not ready to dump any money into it right now.
Anyway..after cleaning all the terminals I noticed one of the clamps was corroded..badly. It was missing part of the metal and even part of the bolt was missing.
It was on the pass side positive cable that runs to the drivers side battery. I cut the corroded clamp off...and put on a new one. Cleaned all the terminals and applied dielectric grease. Connected the batteries again.
The truck hasnt been started in a month and we have had temps of -30 lately. The truck started like nothing happened
Battery gauge is at 15.5 and no CEL's anymore.
Sorry, I had to share. This chick is kinda proud that I fixed it myself. Yeah pretty simple stuff here...but Im glad I didnt pay 250 to tow the beast to the dealer only to pay someone else min 200. to fix it.
Cost me 4.95 lol
Thought Id put this up...get those codes check your battery connections. Could be an easy fix too

Great Job Mindy... Many always go to the most complicated thing first then find out it was a loose wire...or in your case a bad battery terminal...
Rule of thumb... most basic first, then move up the scale until problem is located or repaired.
Saves a lot of grey hair for those who still have any
