back end noise

My truck started making a screeching noise when in reverse. But now its doing it in drive. Can't pinpoint seems to be making the noise in revolutions with the driveshaft. Doesn't really sound like metal on metal, more like a dry rubber seal. Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance?

Set the rear end on jackstands with the rear tires off the ground. Block the front wheels. Start it up and put in gear. See if you can isolate the squeak.

check your rear brake pads for wear. some had a metal wear tab that would scrape when the pads wear down
