Axle seal leak... No new pads
When I was installing a fifth wheel hitch I noticed the right wheel had grease all over the inside and all over the tire...The dealer replaced the axle seal and I asked them to check the brake pads (probable coated w/ oil)
They said they used brake clean...I suspect just on the rotor . I will be towing an 11000 lb camper and don't want any brake issues. What do you guys think???
Thanks,
Jim

Brake clean alone WILL NOT get the oil out of the pads at all. Likewise the top layer of the rotor will still be contaminated. Cast iron is slightly porous and any oil or grease will get trapped in the top layer...the only solution is to machine the rotors and replace the pads.
