Wanted another for a friends truck.

It's common for mine to hit 210 sitting in traffic at a light...Even with the Mag-Hytec pan on. However, I do notice faster cool down with the Mag-Hytec pan, though. It used to take ~1mi (next stop light) to get back to ~180. Now it takes ~1/2mile.

Oh, and we usually hit 100-115 in the summers, here in Lovely Phoenix.

I went the cheap route and went to the local ACE Hardware store and after trying all the fittings with my cut line and temp probe I finally cobbled it all together. Looks just like what Diesel manor sells.
I was worried that it may leak or blow apart, but after 6k, no problems.
Wish I had a picture for you.

and yea, mine runs 200 plus at the hot line.
TC lock up switch helps keep the temps down.

Where's you get the wiring details for the lockup switch on the '06?

Here ya go...

https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...ght=definitive

It's a really long thread and not specific to 06's, but the 06 info is in there somewhere.

I do have a tight converter from Goerend and when idling the temp goes up really fast. However, as soon as the TC is locked whether by switch or on its own the temp goes right down just as fast. Cruising on freeway in 100* weather is 170-180.

With the mag hytec pan, I can usually get down to ~170, so long as the ambient temp is below 100F. If it's >105, 180F is as low as it will go!

Agreed, TC lockup keeps the trans MUCH cooler...less slip!

Mine seems to run a little cooler than that unloaded on the highway. It runs 150-160* in 80* temps and 160-165* in 100* temps. This is at 70-80mph.
