I tow heavy loads and hurt my tranny last year. I just got through with a burned piston and then a freeze plug falling out of the brand new long block. I am not trying to hot rod. I am simply towing a trailer up steep mountains on I64 in WV and want to be able to see the EGT Boost and Tranny temp. I alread have a EGT probe installed but did not like the clutter in my truck with the guage. It appears this Recon XZT is fairly small and out of the way. It also sounds like it would be no threat to my warranty as in no way does it effect performance.

Is anyone using this unit? Oh I noticed on 04.5-07 they said you did not need to set a boost alert. It was my understanding that a stock map sensor could only read between 40-44psi. I realize stock I should never see boost this high. But if something were to screw up and the electronic waste gate quit working wouldn't you want to know before hurting the stock turbo. I realize this is a preferance and you could still set a boost alert just wondering why quadzilla's directions recommend not to. By any chance is it because it will not allow you to set the alert that high?

 

I have one, and yes it does not in any way clutter the cab. The recon will show one parameter at a time, lets say you are monitoring EGTs, with a boost warning set @ 44psi. While driving the recon shows your EgTs, whenever your boost hits 44 the recon will switch to that parameter and flash the boost psi until the level is below the preset, then will go back to the original parameter chosen to monitor.

Now with this said, I am selling my recon For just the opposite reason you want one, I am looking for either a full set of gauges, or the commander.
I am hoping for $150, but taking offers.
