I raced a Duramax about 2 months ago, he smoked me so bad that I traded in my V-10 Superduty within a week. Next time I see him I'm counting on the 600 to even the score.

Sorry, but my only race so far was with a Ford F150. It doesn't really answer your question, but I can't help but share the experience...
We (my dad and I) were cruising on a two lane (one lane each way) highway at about 60 mph. We noticed this F150 behind us acting really stupid and reckless. Quite irritating. It's obvious that he wanted to go faster but couldn't find a place to pass. The road then opened up with a passing lane on our side of the road. Before we can merge into the right lane, he tries to fly past on our right. My dad, who was driving, couldn't help himself! He gave it a little and suddenly the F150 can't keep up. I see a big jolt go through the F150 (I think it must have down shifted). Too bad he's still falling back. At about 80 mph I see another big jolt go through the F150 (which must have been the shift back into overdrive). By this time he's a couple lengths back and probably really irritated himself. Too bad!
Man, that what is more fun than letting your Cummins blast you down the road?!

I got a 2500 HD Hemi a couple of days ago with my Dually! I was in the Fast lane and he was coming on the on-ramp trying to go through the slow lane and in front of me......not a chance......and he had a head start down the ramp before I noticed him.

So let me sum up what I just read. You see what appears to be a reckless driver behind you wanting to pass on a dangerous two lane road because he wants to drive faster then you. He finally gets an opportunity. Makes an attempt to pass and you speed up - making him slam on the gas even faster to try to get on the right side of the road before he hits on coming traffic. This not only endangers his life, but your life, your dad's and any innocent oncoming traffic. All because you wanted to race him? Let me guess….after you blew his doors off and he fell behind, you started to drive slower again?
I'm sorry, but you are butthole for allowing your dad do this and your dad is even a bigger one for doing it with you in the car.
Just my opinion……
PS - Don't get me wrong. I hate Ford and love the competition. But there is a safe place and a wrong place for it. This was the wrong one!!!

I think you missed the "Before we can merge into the right lane, he tries to fly past on our right... part. HighTen...I would have done the same thing. I have no problems with people that want to drive faster than me (if I ever meet one ). But they should pass on the correct side...otherwise, it is accident city.

Sorry but I guess I didn't make myself clear...
When the Ford tried to pass, it was in the passing section of the freeway, where the two lane road opens up to three lanes. When the fast driving started, we were both in the correct lanes, neither of us was in the lane for oncoming traffic. And besides, it was durring break in (around 100 miles on the truck) and we were going really slow on purpose.
Don't worry, soon after this, the Ford got a good oportunity to pass and he did.

Well I don't know about Duramax, but I have a 2000 Ford F350 Powerstroke stock and it will run away and hide from this 555 Dodge, loaded or empty, and will also beat fuel economy 3-5 mpg loaded or empty.

hmmm. thats interesting JD, I raced my brother in law in his 2003 7.3 with a 75 hp chip and beat him with a 02 stock cdt. He then took it to banks and put about $3,600 in it and i still beat him with an edge comp and a banks exaust!! Not sure what he'll try next.
I think he'll be in a dodge before to long ...
havent raced a duramax yet....
02 CDT HO 6spd, 4x4, 3:55 gears, edge comp, egt and boost guages, banks exhuast.
