Anyone install a 5.9L in a Dakota? Any tips?
I'm thinking about putting a 5.9L Cummins into a Dakota. Has anyone did this? What complications might I run into? I am assuming I will need to change the truck's computer, transmission, and make modifications to make the beast fit and support its weight.
I think it would be a fun project now that my Ram truck is just about complete.

Check the conversion forums on this site and others.
IMO a 5.9 is too big for a Dakota. Either a 3.9 or 3.3 is better.

You could put one in a Yugo if you wanted to bad enough. Questions are how much modification are you willing to do and what are you going to use it for?
