Anyone had the K01 OBD Recall Done?
Please post the results of this recall after you've had it completed. Did you experience any ill effects from it, loss of MPG, loss of power, etc? THANKS!!!!

The only ill effect I had is flash update to ecm wiped out secret key code in ecm and wcm. Two have done this so far. Which results in a no start and both module's will need to be replaced. Only 06 and 07 with 5.9 engine seem to have this problem. I will be using witech today for flashes will let you know if they work.

Chrysler pays for it, for some reason starscan is wiping out secret code. I used the witech and went through without problem but did take one hour Chrysler pays me .4 to do flash...

About 1 hour I believe, but not much more then that. I get .7 to flash 03 diesel trucks and flash goes in much faster then the 06 or 07"s. I should keep my mouth shut Chrysler will cut my time down now I have done thousands of update flashes to ECM's and never had one fail until now. Chrysler tech support (STAR) was no help at all but that's nothing new to me.

so how much does the update affect? Any performance issues? How much worse (performance and compatibility with tuners) is the newer ECM's than the original ones?
I heard the new flash for the older vehicles and newer as well is loading a mileage tracker to use in the future to collect "excess mileage tax" revenues. Any truth to this from what you know?
Heard in 2012 there legislation in place to charge as much as .05c per mile which means if the Kalifornia Gov't thinks I went 10K too many miles it means I have to pay an excess mileage tax when I license next year of about $500 more in fees. Yikes... time to move out of here.

k01 flash
I had mine ('07 5.9) done a week ago, next morning the truck started for about 2 sec and then shut down. Finally got it restarted in about 5 minutes, it has never done this before. Don't know what caused it. Anybody else have a similar problem?

Sounds like you may have a fob issue, that would set a code. We had one yesterday that TIPM (Totally intergrated power module) set code after flash was done. Don't know if it was related or not but ordered a new module.

My problems with starting and the horn honking never threw a code, r u still under warranty and is it covering your new module?? (I have 37K on mine so I don't know if a new module would be covered.)

Just had mine flashed today when they reset the TIPM. After the flash it threw the SKIM (I think that was the fault). The result was that the truck started then died. Second attempt it stayed running but since I was at the dealer I asked them to clear the codes. It had an active code that required the PCM to be reset and the re entry of the Secret key code (or something to that effect). Now this latest flash must have added a cute little annoyance to the truck. If you start the truck with the door open the horn honks and the lights flash once. If you put your foot on the brake the horn does not honk but the service guys had never seen that before. Any of you guys noticed this change?
BTW they charged me $24 to reset the TIPM and flashed it for the higher current.

I have a few flashes to do this afternoon will check if the same thing happens after the flash update. This new K01 flash adds that annoying feature to all the trucks that I flashed today. Recall notice doesn’t say anything about adding horn warning feature. I would recomend anyone that needs to have this flash done to make sure tech uses a Witech instead of a Starscan. I had 2 flashes that failed to transfer secret code back into PCM after using a Starscan to do the flash. Chryslers answer to me "well that happens some times"
