I am thinking about using Pennzoil Premium Outdoor/Multipurpose 2-cycle TCW-3.

Thanx.
Thats what I am using now all I need to do is find a good price

I too run two stroke oil (TCW-3 - CITGO) I put about 8oz per fill-up along with a little power service and NAPA diesel lube (got it free).

The new TCW-3 two stroke oils are very clean and meant to be put in a harsh environment to lubricate. They are meant to flow at low temps (ie: snowmobile oil injection systems) meet the requirements for fuel injection systems, and are very clean burning compared to older two stroke oils.

I have raced many of motorcycles and snowmobiles and when the engines are torn down for inspection they look clean with minimal scuffing.

Unless someone comes up with some better reasons not to use it. I will always use it.

Maybe off subject but I think it is appropriate. My wife's grandfather was a oil field pumper for Phillips Petroleum back during the Depression. He pumped the gas wells and oil wells on the Oklahoma State Capitol grounds.
Many oil field pump motors run on natural gas straight from the well. He would run MMO with a drip mechanism into the fuel intake of the natural gas engines on the wells. He told me that it kept the motors running better and kept his maintenance and overhauls down to a minimum.
When they offered me his tools after his passing, I also got the can of MMO he had in his garage he used on his car.
He was the neighborhood mechanic - everyone brought him their lawn mowers to repair. Especially young kids that mowed lawns for pocket change.
I've seen him fill the crankcase of a rebuilt lawn mower engine with 2-stroke oil. When I asked him about it, he told me it was great lubrication both in the fuel and in the crankcase.
I've never used it in a Cummins, but I wouldn't be afraid too. It will definitely lube the injector pump and fuel system but I have no idea of what it will do to clean the injectors.

ive seriously been getting on average 1-mpg better fuel mileage since ive been using ST ashless 2stroke oil. ive only been using 8oz per fillup, im thinking i should maybe go to 16oz / fillup, as ive been running it very lean.

i dont think it offers any type of cleaning benefits, only for lubricity imho.

I never let my tank go much below 1/2... so I add 16 oz 2-cycle per 1/2 a tank

P.S. in the winter or if I'm running heavy

TS is Tractor Supply stores.

Cummins use to sell an adapter to run one quart of used oil through the 03/04. They probably ditched it.

Anyone using (or could I use) Amsoil synthetic 2-stroke injector oil? I have a case of it and want to use it before it gets too old. Thanks

If you do, make sure it's for water cooled applications (TCW-3), which is an ashless formula.

I finally got around to using 2 stroke oil in my 06 Cummins. Going from a 50/50 mixture of Power Service and Marvel Mystery Oil to the SynTech 2 stroke oil from WalMart, my fuel mileage dropped almost a full 1 mpg. I was pulling a utility trailer loaded with ATVs on a trip to northern New Mexico.
From OKC to Amarillo, I averaged 12.5 mpg using the 50/50 mix of Power Service and MMO.
From Amarillo to OKC, I averaged a touch under 11.6 mpg. On both sides of the trip, I kept the rpms right at 2000.
I wouldn't be afraid to use the two stroke oil again but it is certainly not my preference.

Don't mix PS and MMO with 2 cycle oil you kill the 2 cycle oil... Us the 2 cycle oil straight up...

I'm gained about 3 MPG with 2 cycle alone...

And cut my cost per mile...

I'm got much more information on proper use of 2 cycle oil... Just PM me and I'll send you the links and inofrmation!
