Anybody owned both a G56 and 48RE?

Just curious if you noticed a lot more noise and clatter on shutdown with the G56. I can't tell if something is loose or it is just transmission or higher idle speed related. I'm going to the dealer tomorrow for tire size calibration and was going to ask them but they always say everything is normal.

push in the clutch on shut down and it won't do that anymore. plus it is easier on the tranny

It is better with the clutch in but still way more racket than the 06 auto.

It's normal. Mine 2007 and 2001 both have always done it. Jay

Yeah, it's normal. On the 07 G56 truck I used to have I ended up just pushing the clutch in when I shut down and it helped a lot....

I think it has something to do with the combination of the dual mass flywheel and tranny input shaft. Mine has always clattered.

I've found that with the clutch pedal pushed down and the tranny in gear is where I get the least noise and clatter on shut down.

I think the auto having a bit of a load from the transmission front pump must dampen the shaking a bit.Yes the manual does shake a bit more.
