ANTI theft
Ok so i was just reading a thread on how a guy got his truck jacked after 5 hours of ownership.
Nt sure if this is the right place for this but it does pertain to engine control stuff so..
My truck is a 2005 6 spd. So my gas pedal is drive by wire. Which wire is the "go" wire? Any one see what im thinking? Flip a switch and if the theif does get the truck started, its not gonna go anywhere.

It depends if you have the Vehicle Theft Algorithm (VTA). If your key is black plastic, you do not have skim and someone could "theoretically" steal your truck. If you have the grey key that is a bit thicker than the black one, you have VTA and your key is coded to the truck. If the guy doesn't have the right key, it will start and then stall.
There is no wire in drive by wire, but you already knew that.

I have thought about all those others and used to just pull my fuel pump relyay in the jeep but that was a pain to open the hood. besides so many people are doin thos ei figured a decent theif would catch on. but to hit the gas pedal and not have anything happen might confuse them.

You could do that, but your check engine light would always be coming on. Small price to pay to keep the thief from stealing your truck though.
Good call on the electrical wire, not a throttle cable. Can you tell I am an ME?

a simple switch inline with the clutch interlock will prevent starting as it won't see the clutch being depressed... i've got one hidden on mine..

You guys realize if they relly want the truck they will just pull it up on a flatbed or winch it into the back of covered truck and just haul it away then take it somewhere they can take their time and strip it down or defeat the defeats.
