Another injector
I have an '03 that just had an injector go bad. Had them all pulled and tested and test showed No. 2 was the one. Had 148,000 on it but still hated to fork over the dough. And 300 miles away I found they pushed the valve cover gasket out when they replaced the valve cover and $425 later I was back on the road. Have a score to settle with first shop when I get back. And to top it off, after arriving in CA I noticed a diesel leak and found that a rock had hit the fuel tank on the driver's side and caused a small seeping crack. It's been a heck of a trip so far.

I have lost three injectors already on the '05, so I figure enough is enough and I am scheduled next week for some flux injectors. I am hoping between that an the 2 micron filtration system I will finally have a trouble free truck.

I run Cummins filter elements, change every oil change. Got leaking fuel tank repaired and am back on the road again. Just in case you have a fuel tank problem, a dealer replacement is $600. However, they can be repaired, usually by a radiator shop or a shop that knows how to do epoxy work. Cost for my job was $150 for tank and $300 for labor.

well, when the first one went, it went all the way, used a quarter tank of fuel in ten miles........ undercoated the truck pretty good. when the second got replaced, it was more of a " I know that noise" combined with white smoke on idle... the injector rattle my truck wa s making was so bad, at cruise it was to the point of me turning up the radio so It didn't bother me as bad.
