Actually the bypass is good for 60K, or 2 full flow changes...

Thats a ton of money in oil filters....

 

Use oil analysis to know when to change oil , it is the only way to KNOW when the oil needs changing , any millage is just picking numbers out of thin air .
The idea here is to get the best lube for the longest at the cheapest price .
Its like buying part to see what is wrong with your truck , thats a fools game , testing is the only way to know .
Some will get high metal in there 1 report [ many think this is old metals flushing out ] , then after the 2nd analysis [ do a analysis at maybe 10,000 then 5,000 ] it should be stabilized and then maybe every 10-20 thousand , this is just to get the concept across , the idea being is that there is at lot of trucks out there , set up all sorts of ways , everyone is not going to get the same results .
And do not forget to check TBN - the 1st part of the analysis is to see whats in the oil , the TBN is to see if the oil is still good .
There are a lot of reports of over a million miles on syn oil & changing filters .

 

Before I buy Amsoil filters I want to get rid of the Fleetguard filters I have on hand.
