Amsoil BMK 15 filter kit

I am looking into extended oil changes on my 03 CTD, as the truck sits up to 6 weeks while I am overseas working. About 90% of the mileage is highway, with about 50% of that towing. I am presently running Mobil 1, LF16035 stratopore oil filter, and changing the oil every 6K miles. Looking at Amsoil 15W-40 diesel oil, installing a BMK 15 kit, and adding a AMS-oiler due to the long down times. Will start oil analysis next oil change. Any recommendations?

I run the Amsoil by-pass polish filter BE-100, thats the single filter unit, I change that filter once a year (aprox 24k service) This unit pulls an aproximate 10% slipstream from the filtered side of the OEM filter (about 10 micron) and polishes down to 2 micron, I run the Cummins premium blue synthetic and change the oem stratifore filter at 5k then change all at 10k.

As far as your setup I dont think extended intravels is for you with the truck setting 6 weeks at a time, its my understanding that the acid residule in the oil is very bad for the motor when the truck sets like that, I am no oil expert by any means, I would look for an opinion from an expert if I were you!

Cheers, Kevin

That sounds about right however changing to a better oil than MOBIL 1 is good idea no matter what you do
The Preoiler is a good idea also. It won't hurt going with the extended drain intervals however the oil analysis is what actually determines how long the oil can stay in the truck. So you may NOT get the extended intervals but I think you will benifit from the better oil and the preoiler
