Amsoil BMK-11 Bypass on '06 Dodge CTD (underhood)
The pic pretty much explains itself below. I used two (3" x 5") 3/4" pieces of pressure treated plywood on one side of the intake horn and one 3" x 5" piece on the backside. The plywood is painted black. I used four 5" long bolts to tie the plywood together on each side of the intake horn.
I used blue loctite on all nuts because I'm excessive like that . The three nuts that were used to mount the Amsoil bracket to the plywood are hidden. On the second piece of plywood behind the Amsoil bracket I used a wood bit and countersunk three 3/4" holes so that the nuts would fit in the holes and the two pieces of plywood would mount flush to one another.
Once the bolts are tightened down the plywood WILL NOT MOVE. I wanted my Amsoil bypass filter under my hood so that's why I went to the trouble to do this. By the way, I just purchased the BK-203 Amsoil bracket and used my own hoses and fittings. The mount is a heckuva lot cheaper than buying the entire BMK-11 kit from Amsoil, but either one will work just fine.

lanwangeek, the source come off of the top of the stock oil filter bracket. If you look, you will see a fitting on the top of the housing, you just plug into there.

To keep the elbow and line from rubbing on the hood blanket + it alleviates the possibility of oil misting back into the intake (extremely rare).

Is there a plug somewhere on the engine block that the oil can return in besides going to the valve cover oil fill cap, or the pan drain plug? It seems to me that there may be a problem with oil trying to exit the engine through the breather tube if you were on a steep incline. I don't know that for a fact, just trying to come up with a better place to put the oil back into the engine after being filtered by the bypass filter.

Yes there is a plug on the block to return the oil to, but from what I remember it isn't easy to get to. I pulled up a thread on TDR a while back and read a how to on getting the engine block plug out and what part you have to buy from Dodge in order to setup a return line.
It's much easier to punch the pan and install a self tapping hollow bolt (same function as the engine block plug).
Here's another pic of the install from a different angle:

Here are pics of an install I did around a year and a half ago on one of my old trucks: STHB Install
