You must have a very good dealer. Mine even argued and made me pay for the oil change. Got money back but to pick up truck had to pay up front the first tiem. No diganosis or furteher inspection. Just the mechanic complaining about only getting poaid 1.5 hours to diganose and change 1 injector.

Finally traded it of, to much to worry about after the second injector did the same thing!!

By the way Cummins advised me as you said, short tiem no problems, just good way to clean it out, long time can cause damage, especially turbo bearings with lack of lube. At least diesel has some lubrication properties as oposed to gasoline which dosen't.

X2

This is a common duramax/Isuzu issue, sometimes the bottom ends get
trashed. It would be SO much better if they failed closed instead on open.

As for all 6, probably not a bad idea. May want to look into upgrading, while you have a chance.

nah;
No upgrading for this truck. Not right now.
I'd love to but, too many other things are chewing on my time and $$.

Keep her stock, try and finish up some work around the house with it -then sell her off this fall while there is still a good chunk of warranty on her.

My real goal was to find a good beater CTD (maybe 2nd gen) so I didn't care about hauling wood, stone blocks etc...Reliable enough that I could drive it to work thru the winters, but beat just enough (body wise) that I didn't care about driving in the woods getting fire wood, etc...

I told the wife when I bought this truck I'd have no problems doing REAL work with it...But its just TOO nice! I can't bring myself to having a front loader dump a yard of crusher run in the back!!! It's almost spotless and never abused. I just can't be the one to break her like that!

I just couldn't find what I was looking for around my neck of the woods at the time...

Ahh, is this normal?

ever since having the truck the overhead has read a steady 19.7 MPG (+/-0.2).

Hand calcs have consistantly come out to ~19.5 MPG. Granted, in the winter it dipped to the high 17s), but came right back up with the switch in fuel.

I'm not thurough this tank yet, (I just picked her up from the dealer) and the overhead is now reading 21.7MPG...!?

I'll hand calc this out next fill up, but I've never seen this reading before..
Same driving habits, same routes...Just all new injectors and plumbing...

(I'm not getting my hopes up) But... if its anywhere near true.

Oh by the way, the truck is running SO much quiter!!!
that noise that I heard soooo long ago that the dealer could not...Is now gone...Imagine that.
